Dr Ambroise Baker BSc, MSc, D.Phil (PhD)
Present appointment: Post-doctoral research assistant, University College London, Department of Geography, UK. Working for Hydroscape a NERC-funded project interested in the importance of connectivity and stressor interactions for freshwater biodiversity.
Why is my research important: My research aims to promote biodiversity: why? My work contributes to the strong conservation drive to protect biodiversity against the adverse impact of human activities. Moreover, biodiversity underpins a long suite of ecosystem services, necessary to the functioning of our human societies. Therefore, I believe that protection of our biodiversity assets is not enough; we ought to go the extra mile and promote biodiversity to secure future generations’ wellbeing.
